When someone asks, “where are you from?”, I struggle to find a straight-up answer. I tend to say “Planet Earth”, as it seems the most fitting, concise response without going into my backstory.

However, thanks to this backstory, which saw me grow up in many countries including Kenya and the United Kingdom, I have been incredibly fortunate to have absorbed an array of cultures.

Africa was already etched into my nature, character, morals and beliefs long before I was sent to the UK to finish my education. An instinct that one day I’d return accompanied me on those travels.

In 2009, while working in the City of London for a client, I was tasked to write a case study covering emergency power provision delivered to Burkina Faso. This was the first time Africa and I became acquainted through work. My research on the region’s electrification and broader continental infrastructure excited me; much progress and development had already been achieved across many industries. It seemed that, if unbound, Africa’s prosperous future and global influence, while commanding sovereignty of solutions, could be realised within my lifetime.

There was so little corporate news coming out of the continent. So few business publications were paying attention. So little was known about the investment opportunities or the successes to date.

On the back of this realisation came my calling…

A Message from The Founder

LCH Consultancy was launched in 2012 to bridge the global knowledge gap by representing Africa and the corporations and people vested in its empowerment and equitable development.

Since then, we’ve learnt so much, and we’ve grown. But there is much to do and much more to learn. International peers are beginning to follow us, and many are joining the journey – one where our success is wedded to our clients’.
